Senior partner Blaise P. Berthiaume is a lifelong resident of Spencer. While in law school, Blaise worked as an intern in the Office of the Attorney General for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and served as an administrative assistant in the Massachusetts State Senate. Subsequent to passing the bar in 1972, Blaise served as an assistant district attorney in the Worcester District Attorney’s office, prosecuting criminal cases in the Superior Court and the jury session of the District Court. He left the District Attorney’s office to enter private practice in 1975. He was appointed Town Counsel in East Brookfield, a position which he held for approximately twenty-five years.
Throughout his legal career, Blaise has focused on assisting individuals and businesses in meeting their legal needs. He also represents multiple lenders in residential and commercial financing.
Active in Bar Association matters, Blaise recently completed a term as president of the Worcester County Bar Association, a twelve hundred member association comprised of lawyers throughout central Massachusetts, having also served multiple terms on its executive committee during the last four decades. Blaise was also a member of the House of Delegates of the Massachusetts Bar Association and served for six years as a hearing officer for the Board of Bar Overseers. He is also president of the Worcester County Bar Foundation, past president of the Western Worcester County Bar Association, a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association Real Estate Committee, and a member of the Massachusetts Real Estate Bar Association. An active skier, Blaise has been a member of the Okemo Mountain Resort Ski Patrol for 25 years and is the legal advisor for the Southern Vermont Section of the National Ski Patrol.
